Bears
Our local bear population needs your help. Bears fed by humans are eventually put down by the USFG. There is no relocation program for "problem" bears. "Please don't feed the bears". Bed and Breakfast
The Old Bear is a Bed and Breakfast conveniently located just a few hundred yards East of the PMC Village at 2532 Brentwood Place. All guests choose from 1 of 4 available rooms and get a big old fashioned breakfast in the morning. Known for feeling very homey proprietors Jim and Adriana treat everyone like family. They also run the Sweets and Treats Shop out of the Old Bear so be prepared for a heavenly smelling house and lots of tasty treats! Bigfoot
In 1992 two men hiked into Sheep Camp (wilderness campsite) near Pine Mountain Club witnessed a bigfoot creature. The class "A" sighting is retold by local historian Peter Grey in a book "Deep In The Forest." Available at Adventures Ink book store.
Camping
Pine Mountain Club is surrounded by plenty of campgrounds. One local favorite is at the top of Cerro Norroeste mountain. "Camp-O-Alto" is a seasonal campground nestled among large pines at 8500 ft; in a spectacular setting. The vista and sunsets on the drive to the top of the mountain are epic.
Coffee ~ Basecamp
Specialty Drinks including Lattes, Espresso, Tea, and Handcrafted Sodas. Fresh made sandwiches and salads made to order. Homemade baked goods and monthly dinner specials. Basecamp is open Thursday through Sunday and for Special Events. Located in the building between the Gazebo and Post Office. Come check us out.
Entertainment

Pine Mountain Club has its own Equestrian Center, with a hot walker, tack rooms and stalls for your horses.
Hikes
Pine Mountain Club is surrounded by 1.7 million acres of wilderness. We highly recommend the Snowflake trails if you have time for only one hike. Many others are linked below.

The commercial free music you hear in the village is sponsored by Carl and Anick Reese. We have acquired licenses for the music heard throughout the village. The sound system was installed by Peter Grey and Carl Reese with cooperation from Mountain Realty, Bear Claw Bakery, Jennings Realty, Base Camp, Peak to Peak Realty, and other local merchants.

Star Gazing
Pine Mountain Club has some of the best opportunities to view the stars. Astronomers visit our local area to set up their telescopes on the New Moon. The Milky Way is visible on clear nights. Reminder: Turning off your outdoor lights on the new moon is will help preserve our view of the stars.

Antiques, gifts, art, clothing and consignment store. Quality items at great prices. New items are added almost daily. Two locations to choose from in the Village - next to LaLena Mexican restaurant and rear of Mountain Properties building, across from Rural & Rustic.
Weather
Pine Mountian Club is home to a mild four seasons weather. Yes we get snow, and some years we get lots of it. The summers are cool compared to down off the hill. Typically 15 degrees cooler then LA or Bakersfield. We have clean mountain air and occasional summer rainstorm.

Whitener Tree
The Jim Whitener ponderosa is Pine Mountian Club's largest tree. It stands along Mil Potrero Highway when driving into from the I-5. The age estimates of the "Whitener Tree" from 600 to 1000 years old. Winter Driving
Carry chains and a sleeping bag in your car during the winter months. It is not uncommon for roads to be closed or chains to be required to travel. During winter storms tow trucks can be in short supply. Be prepared.
